Enterprise & Economic Development spend is higher per head in Scotland due to devolved spending choices
With the obvious exception of the 2020/21 Covid year, Scotland spends more on Enterprise and economic development per head than the UK average.
The portion which is reserved spending is almost entirely identifiable as being directly for and in Scotland, and Scotland receives a slightly lower than population share of these costs. This is because as well as the energy bills support scheme and renewable heat incentive (which Scotland receives a higher than population share of), the reserved costs also include tax credits and tax reliefs (which Scotland receives less than a population share of, due to lower relevant economic activity in Scotland). see [Detailed Breakdown]
